Meeting Simon

Simon Perrottet is a 17-year-old guy who has been cruising (cruise) along the streets of Geneva with his skateboard for almost 7 years now. He admits he started skateboarding just to follow the stream and his friends. « At the beginning I didn’t even really enjoy it and yet I have sticked to it and I finally came to like it… and I have never stopped since. ». This young guy finds his inspiration from Jason Singer and has selected the Hard Flip as one of his favorite tricks. Simon suggests the Montbrillant Poste as a great spot to skate in the city of Geneva. He already had the opportunity to travel abroad and it was in Zagreb and Split (Croatia) that he explored some of the best places to skate. Simon’s dream would be to discover the streets of San Fransisco and Los Angeles in order to be able to skate on the sports he has so many times checked out on videos. These cities represent a symbol of freestyle for him, that’s the place where it all started.

For all the young people who are beginners in skateboarding, Simon’s advice is to start with learning to ride flat. « A lot and a lot of flat! It’s very important. » he says. Like many other sports, skateboarding is not an easy activity to learn and to practice. If you don’t land the trick the first time, you mustn’t give up… try it again and again!

Good luck to all new freestylers,
