This spot is called "Impossibles" for a reason. The wave works only with a big swell and will barrel right on top of the reef with very shallow water.
Probably one of the best pictures we took from Zurich. That first warm and sunny day of spring, we captured the city from the empty hills together with my friend Jérome.
This is a view well known to everyone who has surfed in the south of Portugal. Arrifana is not only a beautiful beach, it also offers a large range of surf opportunities.
Together with my friends, Michelle and Jérome, we took a day cruising around the city of Zurich finding plenty of spots where we could imitate the feeling of gliding on waves.
After a long day of riding, I took this picture walking to my little apartment in Laax. The sun was setting behind the mountains and the landscape covered with snow was reflecting on the windows of the Riders Hotel.
We hiked the hills of Fernie during one of the freezing cold mornings of our road trip through Canada. We were traveling around BC with a camping RV to look for the best rides. That day, the clouds illuminated by the sunlight created a mystical atmosphere.
This image captures for me one of my most memorable moments. I took a spontaneous heliskiing trip to Greenland, above the Arctic Circle. The view, the vibe and even the sound was so unique and peaceful. This floating mass describes perfectly the peculiarities of this adventure.
Freedom is sometimes a hard feeling to experience when you’re stuck in the routine of a bigger city. Together with Elena, we shot this image on a warm Autumn morning while watching the sun rising from one of the bridges in Zurich.
Frozen doesn't even begin to describe the icy coldness of Greenland. However, even the coldness doesn't take away the beauty of the landscape in Summer with that flat peaceful light.
These colours and shapes seem to be from another planet, and yet this is the view that will be waiting for you in the first morning light in the mountains in Laax. This picture was taken at around 7am. I had to drive from Zurich at 5am to make sure I wouldn’t miss the employee gondola that would bring me up into the hills just a few minutes before the sun started to rise behind the tall peaks of the Swiss Alps.
This image was taken in the middle of a Summer night in Greenland. At that time of the year, the sun shines all day and all night. Sleepless, I took a walk in the streets of Illulissat. I was mind blown by the gigantic pieces of ice floating on the ocean not far from the shore.
Never ending coastline and waves by the southern coast of Portugal. That trip took us on some empty beaches of sand and water on the bottom of vertiginous cliffs.
Wintertime often covers the cities with mist. But once you take a hike above the clouds, the mountains offer memorable landscapes.
This image was taken in Lakey Peak in Sumbawa in one of the best surf spots most people have experienced. This building was built in order to be able to observe the Peak wave on a contest day.
For only a few seconds during the winter sunrise the snow and sky turn a elegant rose colour. This image was captured at 7am on the top of the mountains in Laax, Switzerland.
"Urban surfing" was the name given to this massive spinning pipe. This rotating effect would allow riders to cruise while experiencing the movements of surfing.
Waking up at 4:30 in Zurich to drive in the direction of the Swiss Alps to capture the first sunlight. In Laax, my friend Pede was waiting for me to catch the first gondola to take us up to our shooting spot for the day.
To reach this spot, we had to walk through the Uluwatu caves, carrying the camera gear while walking between waves on a sharp unsteady reef. All worth it for the particular landscape awaiting us at the end of the struggle. This shot was taken with the legendary shaper Jim Banks in Secrets.
One might be surprised to know that this image was captured in Sardinia on a pumping day. The big Italian island is actually an underrated surf playground.
This image was taken during my most happy moment from last year. Sardinia was a great surprise in many ways: the tasty food, the breath-taking landscape and the unexpected surf.
To take this birds eye view photograph, I had to climb up a playground feature and lean forwards. Being afraid of heights that was like an extreme sport for me!
Because Switzerland is a landlocked country, every now and then we would go to the countryside and have a quick paddle in the cold water of the mountain lakes.
