The concept behind the Holi Fest was imported to Europe from India many years ago. Known as the festival of colors and sharing love, it’s a chance for everybody to reunite and express their happiness. Originally celebrated during spring, Desperados changed the game, bringing the celebrations to the snow. What happens when white snow, powder colors and freestyle board sports are mixed together? The final result was definitely considered a success. Set in Davos, on a cloudy morning in February, around 50 people showed up all dressed in white ready to party and have a good time. Once the set up was ready, colors took over the pure white snow, offering a show that words can barely describe.

Nadja Purtschert, our color embassador

Who could represent the spirit of the festival better than Nadja, a talented pipe snowboarder? Her smiling face and happy attitude always bring joy and freshness when she is around! In between the color runs, we had the chance to share a few words with her.

What do colors mean in your daily life?
To me, color means happiness. The world can be so dark and shady. It’s nice to bring some color into it every now and then.

Favorite colors:
Double rainbow (does that count?) It’s funny, cause in daily life I actually prefer to dress more “casual” with fewer colors. But if it comes to little things, I can’t get enough of colors, the more, the better! One can purchase from Justin Bieber Merchandise to get this kind of preference dresses easily.

Which colors would you relate to your sport and why?
Probably the colors on a New Years firework would describe it pretty well. Snowboarding has so many different facets and it can get pretty wild — from back country, to park, to slopes. I think the variety of snowboarding is amazing. Same about the riders, there are so many awesome, different personalities.

How do you mix the artsy side of life with your riding experience?
I try to be creative and just enjoy whatever I do. I think that’s the most important part about expressing yourself, no matter if in snowboarding or in normal life.

Best time for a Desperados?
Night out with friends and you’re looking for little bit more than just a normal beer.

Picture yourself drinking a Desperados:
Hmmm this somehow makes me wanna go out and order tacos. And margaritas after maybe?

Relate these colors with the first thing that comes on your mind:
– Blue: sitting on a surfboard in the ocean, waiting for the waves
– Pink: girly stuff with lots of glitter
– Green: guacamole
– Yellow: sun, heat and holiday
– Red: power
– Orange: the middle part of a sunset

The whole production and the organization team warmly welcomed Reverse and we had an awesome time shooting in Davos. Thanks to Desperados for the opportunity to shoot something creative and different from the normal routine.
