Reverse filmer, Nicki Antognini, followed the German freeskier, Sebi Geiger, through his season to shoot a short documentary for O´Neill. They went through a lot of ups and downs in this tricky season, which is almost over now.

Sebi’s feedback on five months of shooting.

Seasons can be stressful, because the schedule is so full and filled with unexpected issues. What are your feelings about the past months spent on the snow?
This season was definitely a tough one for me. We wanted to shoot as much backcountry as possible, which did not really work out. The weather was just not cooperating with us and as soon as there was snow in the forecast, it got super windy or started raining. Also, my right shoulder was giving me a lot of trouble, because it keeps dislocating. But when I look back on the season, I forget all the problems and I´m still very happy with what I experienced and what I got done. That makes me very thankful, to have had the opportunity to do all those exciting things.

I´m really happy with how it turned out! We were always hesitating, wondering if we had enough good shots. It was the first time someone was shooting a portrait style edit about me and even though I was really nervous doing all the interview parts, I´m very stoked with what we accomplished. For sure, we had way more happy moments than sad ones. Thanks to Nicki for not giving up, after they stole a lot of our shots, and for realizing this great piece of work!

If you could put one segment of your edit on repeat, which would it be?
It is really hard to say, because I had a lot of fun no matter if we were shooting the snowpark, shredding pow, or doing the interviews. We had some good laughs, haha! But if I have to choose, I would definitely say the powder section! I had some good times with my dad and my brother, and what is better than having a good Hirsch Beer after a day up on the mountain with your family?

Crown the best moment of this winter
This is an easy question for me, haha. It was definitely shooting that line I was planning for a few years now. We didn´t get many good days this winter, so when we finally woke up on a bluebird day with fresh powder, we knew exactly what we had to do. It was a really long hike, but the snow was awesome and it was so much fun to ski. Also seeing the shots afterwards was very satisfying.

We were on our way to Crans Montana, had a break to get lunch, and came back to the car to find the passenger window was broken and my backpack and Nicki’s handbag were stolen. I had my MacBook, which was around three weeks old and two hard drives, where all the shot we already filmed were on, in the backpack. All gone!!

When we were riding down from filming the BC line, Nicki managed to hit the only tree in a huge field and had her first real tomahawk.

Is your summer gonna be spent touring the Euro glaciers or touring beaches with cold beers?
Sadly neither of those things are going to happen. I have my shoulder surgery soon and after that my chill and rehab program is going to start. The doctor said it´s going to take around 4 months before I can start skiing again. I wanna focus on rehab in order to be fit again as fast as possible.

Special thanks to:
