Bringing the game to the next level.

“Galaaxy” opening days

The madness has begun with the “Galaaxy” opening day that all of you might have heard off. The whole Zurich Jetset, models, rapers… and us 😉 where invited to join the festivities up at 2222m.a.s.l. on the Crap Sogn Gion to celebrate the official opening where Laax together with Rumble the Jungle presented the new design of the space with extravagance. Balance artists, fine food, metal creatures rock band, astronauts, fireworks and many other extreme happenings during these two discovery days.

LAAX Open

Once one hectic week ended, another one started with the famous LAAX Open event. The week started with a beautiful blue bird day on Monday during training, which was followed by nipple deep snow for the rest of the week. Tuesday then Wednesday then Thursday… Everyday contests have been cancelled because of strong winds (up to 130 km/h) which allowed the riders to exercise their powder skills.
Likely for the LAAX Open, the weather cleared a little, just enough to host the half-pipe qualis and finals, where your Swiss artist and rider, Iouri Podladtchikov, successfully owned the top of the podium.
In conclusion, it was a successful week of partying, drinking and enjoying deep pow with the gang!

Girls Are Talking

Since this winter, we are happy to be part of the “Bridge” co-working space up the Crap Sogn Gion. Having access to such a great space, where people can gather, exchange and connect to each other, is a wonderful opportunity.
To understand more the “Bridge” here is the philosophy:
The Bridge is a space at 2252m.a.s.l. in the ski area LAAX, where entrepreneurs, amazing minds and creative people get together to inspire, interact and grow innovative ideas… or just enjoy working with a stunning view.

After entering such stunning place, we got motivated into organizing the first ever “Girls Are Talking” event from the ripping movement named “Girls Are Awesome”. This collectivity connects women and men from all over the world to inspire each other. The format of “Girls Are Talking” translates in three talkers sharing their personal experience on one defined subject, and moderated by our one and only Henry Jackson. Due to heavy winds, there was no way to bring people up the mountain, so we had the chance to move the event to the second most amazing location in LAAX, the “Riders Hotel”. This session, we were talking about sustainability because we care and respect our mountains. The three speakers represented the subject in three interesting level: Vanessa Rueber from Patagonia talked about the industrial perspective while Barbara Lax introduced us into the education aspect of sustainability, finally Sina Candrian showed the crowd how you can make the world a better place with some simple personal steps.

Week conclusion

In conclusion, we were partying way too much for our age, had some inspiring talks and experiences with the Girls Are Talking, saw LAAX like never before during the opening days and the week passed by way to fast.
